The Milesians are tales of pre-Christian Ireland, a time when the Celts ruled the Five Kingdoms and their High Kings and warriors were renowned for their heroic deeds and their brutality. The druids were trying to save the tribes from the threat that was encroaching from the east, namely, the Romans, but petty squabbling among the kings could prove to be the destruction of Ireland, as it was for Gaul and Britain.
